Skilled & Employer Sponsored Visas

The skilled and employer sponsored visas are two types of visas that are available to individuals who wish to live and work in Australia. Both of these visas allow the holder to live and work in Australia for a period of time, and they also provide a path to permanent residency. The skilled visa is typically granted for four years, while the employer sponsored visa is usually granted for two years.

There are many different requirements that must be met in order to be eligible for either of these visas, but the most important thing is that you have the skills and qualifications that are needed to fill a job in Australia. If you can meet these requirements, then you should be able to obtain one of these visas and begin your new life in Australia.

The following Visas Sub Classes belong to this category:

  • Visa S/C 494 (Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional Visa- Provisional)

  • Visa S/C 189 (Skilled Independent Visa)

  • Visa S/C 190 (Skilled Nominated Visa)

  • Visa S/C 476 (Skilled- Recognised Graduate Visa)

  • Visa S/C 489 (Skilled Regional Visa- Provisional)

  • Visa S/C 887 (Skilled Regional Visa)

  • Visa S/C 491 (Skilled Work Regional Visa- Provisional)

  • Visa S/C 482 (Temporary Skill Shortage Visa)

Skilled Visas

The skilled visa is for those who have the required skills and qualifications to fill a job in Australia. The visa process can be relatively straightforward, and there are a number of different visas to choose from depending on your skillset and qualifications.

The most common skilled visa is the subclass 189 visa, which allows you to live and work in Australia permanently. To be eligible for this visa, you'll need to score at least 60 points on a points test, which assesses factors such as your age, English language ability, and work experience. If you have a relative who resides in Australia, you may also be eligible for a subclass 190 or subclass 489 visa. These visas allow you to live and work in Australia temporarily, but they do have strict eligibility criteria. For example, you'll need to have an occupation that's on the relevant skilled occupation list, and you'll need to obtain an invitation to apply from the Australian government. So if you're considering a move Down Under, make sure you research all of your visa options carefully before making your decision.

Employer Sponsored Visas

The employer sponsored visa is for those who have been offered a job by an Australian employer. The Australian Government offers a number of employer-sponsored visas which allow skilled workers to live and work in Australia on a permanent or temporary basis.

Employer-sponsored visas are available for both skilled workers who have been nominated by their employer and for those who are sponsored by an eligible family member. There are a number of requirements that must be met in order to be eligible for an employer-sponsored visa, including age, English language proficiency, and skills. In addition, applicants must have a valid job offer from an eligible employer. The employer must also demonstrate that they are unable to fill the position with an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
