Generally there are two types of graduate visa. Graduate visa for people graduated from Australian education providers and Graduate visa for people graduated from eligible overseas universities.
Temporary Graduate Visa
This is an onshore visa specifically designed for overseas students who have completed their studies in Australia but do not as yet meet requirements for the permanent visas. The visa applicants must be under 50 years old, meet the 2-year Australian study requirement, meet the English language requirement and hold an eligible visa. Post-Study Work Stream –
For overseas students who graduate with a higher education degree from an Australian education provider, regardless of their field of study. A visa in this stream can be granted for up to 4 years depending on the applicant’s qualification.
Skilled-Recognised Graduate Visa
This is a temporary visa for young overseas graduates who have recently graduated from eligible overseas universities and wish to gain up to 18 months of skilled experience in the relevant occupations. The applicant must be under 31 at time of application, have competent English and have completed a course in a prescribed discipline in a prescribed overseas education provider within the past 24 months.
